History of the Organization
The Southwest Petroleum Credit Association (SWPCA) was founded in 1935 at the Blackstone Hotel in Fort Worth by this group of Credit Executives of the petroleum industry. These founders leave behind the legacy of the growth of a loose fellowship into the present active association representing the petroleum industry in The United States.

In 2001 Retail Risk Managers joined SWPCA at it's Annual Conference in Santa Fe, NM and the name of the organization was changed to the National Petrol
